About Marlan Gary Funeral Home Columbus, OH
Marlan James Gary, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, was born on July 13, 1969, and was raised in Warren, Ohio, by his mother Deborah Gary Britton. He graduated from Warren Western Reserve High School in 1987 and participated in the marching, symphonic, and jazz bands.
Marlan joined the Ohio Army National Guard after earning his degree. After completing Basic Training and Advanced Technical Training, he relocated to Middletown, Ohio, where he was given the chance to work for Hall & Jordan Funeral Homes. He attended Miami University and received his degree in mortuary science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science while working at the funeral home. Marlan relocated to Columbus, Ohio, in 1992 to assist his uncle in establishing a funeral home on Main Street in the storied Bexley neighborhood.
He became a member of the Triedstone Baptist Church, where he later served as a trustee and was ordained as a deacon in 1996. He assists Bishop Jerome Ross by acting as an armor bearer. He served as the Trilogrogan Toastmasters Club’s vice president of public relations and was a former member.
In the year 2000, Marlan started overseeing the daily activities of the funeral home on Main Street, which included but wasn’t limited to, meeting with all the families, preparing the deceased for viewing, accounts receivables, and staff coordination. In April 2005, GOD opened a new door for Marlan Gary to join forces with the Porter Qualls & Gary Funeral Home. He joined the Greater Linden Business Network as a member in 2008. Marlan loves and serves GOD, his church, and families who have lost a loved one. He bases his brand, ministry, and reputation on service. Marlan is married to the former D’Andrea Cordell, and they have 2 children, David and Kennedy.
